Paint the light, stained glass in Sarthe, 19th-21st centuries" exhibition

Stained glass is not just religious; it is also civil, and the iconographic subjects are obviously different. From the 19th century onwards, thanks in part to the Universal Exhibitions, civil architecture borrowed part of its decoration from the art of stained glass. Aux Dames de France department stores', private home, company headquarters, etc. Stained glass windows add a decorative touch or tell the story of a site, like the Antoigné foundry in Sainte-Jamme-sur-Sarthe. There are many examples in the Sarthe region, with glass painters such as Echivard, Grüber and Alleaume.
