Journée d'étude : Le "petit fonds Saint-Domingue" face aux historiens

Join the contributors to the 22nd volume of *Revue Musicorum*, dedicated to the ‘small Saint-Domingue collection’ held at the Mayenne Archives, at a one-day symposium. This event forms part of the programme “2001–2026: celebrating 25 years of the Taubira Act”.

This archive collection comprises documents relating to the Chabanon, Vézien and Pardaillan families, whose histories are linked to that of the island of Saint-Domingue in the 18th century. It offers a journey through time, from 1725 to 1830, and across space, between France and its colony of Saint-Domingue. The fortunes of these families, built on the operation of sugar cane and coffee plantations, were jeopardised by the events of the Revolution. Drawing on this collection, the contributors have therefore examined the political, economic, military and technical history (including cartography and musical practices) associated with the island during this period.
