Freely inspired by Japanese Noh and Gagaku, Baishi's music blends improvisation with a demanding composition built around tableaux, borrowed from Igor Stravinsky. The amplification of the brass instruments, the fine-tuning of the percussion elements and the tuning and preparation of the guitars give the group a deliberately raw, organic sound that tends to resemble a traditional electrified music ensemble.
