Leroy Se Meurt + Heimat

Leroy Se Meurt delivers energetic electronic music blending punk with powerful beats. Heimat presents original compositions blending new wave, trap and ethnographic influences from South-East Asia.

Leroy Se Meurt n isn’t the sort of band that leaves you indifferent. Raised on punk and forged in hardened electronic sounds, the duo – formed in Paris in 2018 – delivers energetic music that evolves with each release. Following three EPs and one LP, their second full-length album is once again being released on the Berlin-based label Mannequin Records. On the programme: anger, tension, drum machines that hit hard, synths that hit the mark, and a voice that plunges you straight into the heart of the action. The first listen packs a punch, the second has you dancing until you’re exhausted, and the third leaves you lying on the floor, your face swollen from a cathartic experience. Whether you’re looking for dancing, thrills, a plot twist or simply raw energy, Leroy Se Meurt’s gigs are perfect for experiencing all four at once.

Behind Heimat lie two figures well known on the French underground scene: Olivier Demeaux, keyboardist with Cheveu and also a member of the drone-ambient project Accident du Travail, and Armelle Oberle, whose unique voice we’ve already heard with The Dreams and Badaboum. Since their debut album (2016), Heimat have surprised many listeners with the originality of their compositions, inspired as much by new wave and trap music as by ethnographic recordings from South-East Asia.
