Nuit du Cinéma et Interludes Hypnotiques

Sitting on deckchairs, take in the ‘Musical Cultures’ filmed during La Nuit du Cinéma.

This visual and auditory journey, on the big screen, will begin in Mauritania with the presence of anthropologist Sébastien BOULAY. He will present a preview of his film about the young musician Mahfough ETHMANE, a player of the ‘TIDINIT’, a sub-Saharan lute.

You will then discover a musical road movie filmed by the CPFI – Musiques du Monde at the foot of the city walls of Le Mans, with the participation of local musicians. The evening will conclude with the screening of archive footage from the CPFI recorded during the ‘Les Orientales’ festival.

The programme for this cinema night will be hosted by Gnawa musicians from Le Mans (Lahsan Amrani) over a cup of mint tea.
