The Caravanes Festival is hosting an Open Forum, providing an opportunity for discussion between the public, tradition collectors and researchers.

Featuring:

Lucie RAULT, an ethnomusicologist specialising in China who was formerly head of the musical instrument collections at the Musée de l’Homme. She has also written numerous books, including the renowned *Instruments de Musique du Monde* (Musical Instruments of the World), published by Éditions de la Martinière.

DASTUM is a non-profit organisation (under the 1901 Act), founded in 1972, which works to collect, safeguard and pass on the intangible cultural heritage – particularly oral and musical traditions – of historic Brittany: songs, music, tales, proverbs, stories… DASTUM was instrumental in having the Fest-Noz inscribed on UNESCO’s List of Intangible Cultural Heritage.

Pelin BASAR, a ney player and former member of the Turkish National Orchestra, is a musicologist and outreach coordinator at the CPFI – World Music Centre.
