Andromaque
Performance
Le Mans
Théâtre En Actes is presenting a monologue adaptation of Racine’s tragedy *Andromaque*...
The action is set in Epirus, at the court of Pyrrhus, son of Achilles. Pyrrhus is holding Andromaque, Hector’s widow, and her son Astyanax captive. He has fallen in love with his captive and is putting off his marriage to Hermione. Orestes is sent by the Greeks to reclaim Astyanax. In reality, his main aim is to leave with Hermione, who is herself in love with Pyrrhus. To save her son, Andromache resigns herself to marrying Pyrrhus. Hermione, feeling betrayed by Pyrrhus, seeks revenge through Orestes.
Directed and performed by Jean-François Cochet – Théâtre En Actes
