Once again this year, Faites Lire! is hosting the Grande Dictée, a fun and friendly event celebrating the French language and a love of words. Will social media and artificial intelligence, with their myriad abbreviations, spell the end of correct spelling? Not just yet, judging by the annual success of the Grande Dictée, organised by the author and former teacher Julien Soulié. In 2026, he returns with a new text, to be written as error-free as possible, which is set to pay homage to imaginary worlds – the theme of this year’s Faites Lire! event.
